Recent comments on his music have been:

" I came to hear you play at the BlueBird Cafe and I like the sound and feel of your music. I also really like how you play your own songs."

"Original as Hell, very self defining."

"He writes all original words and music, in a unique experimental style, words that you find yourself humming to yourself all week long, Jasher is one of SL's most original musicians, and his dreamy esoteric style will give you a big woozly warm fuzzy feeling so of right .. just there points."

His shows usually consists of original music with 3 or 4 covers mixed in.   He is a performer with a laid back original style.

1. Why are you a singer/songwriter?  I wrote the chorus lyric to Willie Dixon's and at the time Foghat's "I just want to make love to you" .  Then I found out Willie wrote it about the time in 1954.  But I thought maybe I have  some talent.  So I kept at it and a natural progression was the guitar.  Played bars, parties, weekends and wrote.   Had to live a real life that was more immediate.  Music was shelved.  Second Life gave my music and most certainly me a second life.  I have so much fun and feel so humbled to be listened to again.

2.  What is your musical background? Do you have a musical family or did you just fall into songwriting all on your own?

See above.  None, I was the kid they told to stand in the back and move your lips.  Then I got a guitar.  From the beginning I never wanted to imitate anyone.  I wanted a sound of my own.   I am not that good of a musician to imitate someone else.

3. What sorts of things have you done to improve your songwriting?

Rewrite, bought Master  Writer software to help my songwriting.  Subscribe to TAXI to try to seel songs and be heard.

4. Have you written any songs in the last 12 months? What are you working on now and where do you feel your music is headed?

Most certainly, I write quite often.  I am working on integrating the songs as I play them alone for myself.  I possess a bit of stage fright.  Second life is actually helping.  I found out that I play better with larger crowds.

5. And finally, what advice would you give anyone looking to follow a similar path to yours?

Follow your heart.  I think that is the best solution for everything.  Though I am older, I still want to succeed in music so I can help others. Life proceeds at it's own speed, work hard to control it at your speed.
